We’re currently working with Colson and Colson General Contractors, a company based in Salem, OR, on a construction project for Orchard Heights Gracious Retirement Living in Clermont, FL. We’re providing porta-potties and roll-off dumpsters at the construction site.
The project is expected to be complete in the spring of next year. The new construction is building one- and two-bedroom apartment homes with amenities for seniors in the retirement and assisted living community. Community amenities include exercise and shopping opportunities, a barber and beauty shop, crafts, cards, billiards and entertainment. There’s even a dining hall staffed with a chef who prepares three nutritious meals each day, along with a 24-hour fruit bar, coffee and snack bar. Apartments will be furnished with drapes and linens, and will include kitchenettes and 24-hour emergency cord pulls in each room. Staff is on-site 24 hours each day to assist residents.
Orchard Heights has communities across the United States in 17 states. In Florida, there are two communities in Oxford, one under construction in Clermont and another community in Spring Hill. In addition, Orchard Hill manages communities in Ontario and Saskatchewan, Canada and several locations in the United Kingdom.
Colson and Colson General Contractors was founded in 1963 between Hugh Colson and his son. In 1979, they began working exclusively on constructing retirement residences. As of December 2009, Colson and Colson has built over 300 retirement residences in the United States, Canada and even England!
“Our roll-off dumpsters on site will collect all the standard construction debris like wood, paper, metal and cardboard. We’ll then haul the debris to the right waste management or facility,” said owner Chuck Herb. “In addition, we’re providing porta-potties on site for the contractors.”
