Frequently Asked Questions

Our FAQ page can help you learn more about our residential and commercial dumpsters
Whether you are clearing out debris after a home remodeling project or new construction, or if you are just doing some major spring cleaning at your house, renting a dumpster is fairly straightforward process. Still, if you’ve never rented a dumpster before, you may have questions about the whole process.

And truth be told, even if you’re interested in a 30-yard roll-off dumpster for a major construction or commercial project and you’ve rented dumpsters for your company in the past, you may still have some questions. In particular, if you’ve never used enlisted our services before, you may want to know more about our procedures.

And that’s fine. We’re happy to answer any and all of the questions you may have! Of course, there are certain things we get asked over and over again—from residential owners and business customers alike. Chances are, these may be some of the same topics you are wondering about. We’ve listed the most common questions here, along with our answers:

What size dumpster should I rent?

That depends on the size and scale of your project, and the type of material to be hauled away. We have dumpsters available for long-term and permanent waste management solutions, as well as temporary dumpsters to collect debris generated from construction or cleaning projects. Our front-load dumpsters are available in 2, 4, 6 and 8-yard sizes. Roll-off dumpsters and construction containers come in 10, 20, 30 and 40 cubic yard sizes. If you own a small store, a 4- or 6-yard front-load dumpster may suffice. For a garage or house cleanup, a 10-yard roll-off dumpster typically works great. For a major home renovation project, a 20-yard roll-off container may be called for (the next available size, the 30-yard dumpster, is also available but is harder to fill without construction equipment). If you’re unsure what size you need, give us a call. We can help you figure out the right dumpster size for your project.

How much can I expect to pay for a dumpster rental?

We do our best to offer the most competitive prices on the market. However, prices vary depending on the dumpster size, what type of contents will be disposed in the dumpster, and the weight of the contents and your location. Rental costs can range from as low as $100 for a 10-yard dumpster to $700 or more for a 40-yard dumpster.

What’s the difference between a front-load and a roll-off dumpster?

Front-load dumpsters are smaller and square in shape, and are best for long-term or permanent waste management. They usually are fitted with a lid and are commonly found behind restaurants, small businesses and apartment complexes. These dumpsters are not available as residential rentals. However, roll-off dumpsters (also known as construction containers) are available for both home use and industrial and commercial rentals. Roll-off dumpsters are rectangular in shape, have tall sides and are completely open on the top. They are used to collect construction debris and waste generated from large-scale residential or commercial cleaning projects, bulk yard waste removal, demolitions, construction and renovations. They’re known as “roll-off” because the containers literally roll off and onto a special truck with a flatbed that tilts for easy loading and unloading of the container.

Are there certain materials that are and aren’t allowed to be thrown away in the dumpsters?

You can put anything you want in the dumpster rental except for tires and hazardous materials. There’s a long list of specific materials that prohibited due to government regulations, and our staff would be happy to go over these if you want to give us a call. But as a general rule, we cannot accept paint, solvents, gasoline, propane, antifreeze, automobile batteries, transmission/hydraulic oil, products with asbestos or Freon, dead animals or medical waste. All of these items are deemed hazardous.

Are your dumpsters clean?

Yes. We take pride in delivering dumpsters that are routinely cleaned and well-maintained. The dumpster won’t be an eyesore, we promise. We strive to take good care of our dumpsters—and our customers—and that’s what helps us stand out from the competition.

How soon can you deliver a roll-off container out to our property?

Prompt delivery is always our priority, but “instant” delivery is not always possible. However, we do offer same day service if you call us before 10 a.m. We can usually deliver dumpsters for orders placed after 10 a.m. within one business day.

Does someone need to be present when you deliver the dumpster?

That is preferable, but not always necessary. If no one will be on-site for delivery, please call us in advance and tell our dispatcher where you would like the container to be positioned. Otherwise, our driver will use his best judgment to place the dumpster in the safest accessible area.

Will a rental dumpster damage my driveway if it’s placed there?

There is that possibility. However, you can protect your driveway by placing 4′ x 8′ sheets of plywood on your driveway to set the dumpster on. This will spread out the weight of the dumpster more equally, and prevent the dumpster from scratching the surface of the driveway.

Is it okay to put the dumpster container on my street?

In some instances, it is alright. But we can’t tell you for sure. This is something that varies from one community to another. We recommend you check with your local municipality. It might be okay, but you may be required to get a permit

What do you do with the debris after you pick it up?

Your container will be taken to a state-approved transfer station. Once it arrives, your material will be sorted and all recyclable material (i.e. metal, cardboard, wood, concrete, stones, bricks, etc.) will be taken to an area recycling facility. On average, we recycle 98 percent of all materials that we haul. We do hold an Accredited Professional certification in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program, which means we can provide debris recycling that’s mandatory for all LEED projects. Material that can’t be reused will be disposed into a landfill.

Do you provide neighborhood garbage collection to residences?

No. Our waste collection and hauling services are only available to commercial clients who have our front-load dumpsters located on their place of business.
